Rumba

Ages 16+. Rumba derives from Africa and is the dance of love and passion. This expressive and sensual dance emphasizes the emotional and physical connection between the dancers. The dance was developed in the New World in the late 19th century and was a favorite in the working neighborhoods of Havana, Cuba. We begin by learning and practicing basic patterns and then build on your new dance skills to learn how to blend them together, so you can dance and enjoy the music. Cuban motion is a distinctive feature of the rumba dance. In this class, you will learn Cuban motion and many other fun patterns. This class is for newcomers to Rumba.
