Tri-Cities paving and bridge deck repair project starts next week
Lane closures planned on SR 240 near George Washington Way interchange
RICHLAND – Paving and bridge deck repair work starts next week, which may cause minor nighttime delays on State Route 240 near the George Washington Way interchange.
Contractor crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation will have intermittent lane closures at night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 4 through Saturday, June 9. This work is to prepare for paving and bridge deck repair work at the I-182 and SR 240 interchange in Richland and the US 395 interchange near the Blue Bridge in Kennewick.
Over the next three months, contractor crews will be rehabilitating the existing roadway, which includes paving, crack sealing, striping, installing new guide posts, and removing old, cracked pavement on bridge decks and replacing it with new pavement. This work is scheduled to be complete in August. Drivers may experience nighttime delays due to this work during the week.
